Organic food is gradually becoming less and less of a niche market. It’s a sad fact that for many years lack of education and economic restraints have led people to consume processed food on a regular basis. Mass produced food damages the body in a myriad of ways and unfortunately can also be quite addictive for young eaters, how many teenagers do you know that insist on eating pizza nearly every day?
Sometimes it’s important to remind your loved ones what makes organic food so much healthier. First of all mass produced food is positively loaded with additives such as artificial flavors and conservatives. Two of the worst and most common include hydrogenated fat and monosodium glutamate (or MSG as it’s more commonly known). Organic food is naturally tasty and not intended to last for weeks and months on end, for this reason it’s free of such harmful additives as the ones mentioned above.
Another major reason to only eat organic food is that it is simply so much richer in vitamins and minerals that the body needs to function well. In contrast to mass produced food, organic food tends to be very rich in important nutrients such as calcium and vitamin c. These nutrients are especially important for young people who are growing every day.
Organic food is not only better for health reasons, it’s also better for ethical reasons. Consider the environmental damage that mass producing crops causes; massive volumes of pesticides are sprayed all over the earth on a daily basis. This poisons the soil and causes a myriad of long term problems.
Organic food farmers also tend to treat their workers better as their farms are closely monitored to make sure they conform with recognized organic food standards. Mass produced food on the other hand often originates from large plantations in developing countries where laborers are underpaid and child labor is used.
It’s very usefull information that you share over here. I wanna thank you
This is an aritlce that makes you think never thought of that!
American’s are increasingly “going” organic. But the process of living organic isn’t made easy by the system in place. In fact, much of the food labeled organic still contains non-organic by products. The majority of the plastics are made with GE crops, specifically corn.
Whoa, whoa, get out the way with that good infoarmtion.
Thank for the information. The quality of food consumed in America today is a shame. Education is key to change.
